The Hammer Nutrition Energy Gel is the benchmark for energy products!
A look at the ingredients list on the label will tell you why: we use long-chain complex carbohydrates for smooth and steady energy release. There is only a trace of simple sugars, so HAMMER GEL does not cause an immediate insulin spike during exercise. This can result in sudden energy fluctuations and may be detrimental to your performance. You will not find saturated, cheap, ineffective, low-quality sugars in Hammer Gel that may damage your health and performance. There are no artificial colours or artificial sweeteners. This product is certified by the Kosher organisation.
What type of carbohydrate should an energy Gel contain?
The amylose–amylopectin content of maltodextrin and potato starch is chemically similar to muscle glycogen. Therefore, the “gold standard” for energy drinks, bars or gels is longer-chain carbohydrates (maltodextrins). The reason is clear: larger amounts of energy are absorbed more easily by the athlete. In addition, as body-fluid pressures change when temperature and humidity deplete the body’s stores, the electrolyte loss contributed to by added sugars may cause dilutional hyponatraemia.
