What makes FOX40 whistles better?

A pea whistle creates sound through the movement of the small cork pea inside, alternately closing and opening the hole through which air escapes. This process produces a rapid alternation between sound and silence, creating the characteristic “vibrato” whistle – until the pea becomes stuck in the hole.

The pealess FOX40 whistle is more like a musical instrument, producing 3 slightly different frequencies simultaneously. The different frequencies overlap, alternately reinforcing and cancelling each other out. The result is a loud, piercing vibrato whistle with no moving internal parts that can become stuck. The whistle is moulded from plastic and manufactured using injection moulding.
