ALTRA Vanish Carbon 2
The ALTRA Vanish Carbon 2 is Altra’s flagship racing model for road races and high-intensity training. Designed for maximum speed and running economy, it combines super foam cushioning with carbon plate technology, creating a shoe that converts the energy of each stride into forward propulsion.
Altra EGO™ PRO – Performance Super Foam
The midsole uses Altra EGO™ PRO, a lightweight super foam that delivers high energy return. Foam compression effectively absorbs impact, while its responsive rebound creates a bouncy feel, helping the runner maintain a faster pace with less muscle fatigue.
Full-Length Carbon Plate
Inside the midsole is a full-length carbon plate, which acts as a propulsion lever. The plate stabilises foot strike and increases stride energy efficiency, improving running economy, particularly at race pace.
Active Stance Rocker – Racing Roll
Active Stance Rocker technology creates an aggressive heel-to-toe roll, facilitating the transition to toe-off and reducing energy loss. This geometry works with the carbon plate for faster acceleration.
FootShape™ Fit – Natural Stability
Altra’s signature FootShape™ toe box allows the toes to spread naturally, increasing stability and push-off power. This is particularly beneficial in long-distance races, where foot stability becomes a critical performance factor.
Upper – Ultralight Engineered Mesh
The ultralight engineered mesh upper reduces the shoe’s overall weight and provides a high level of breathability. The fit is race-ready and secure through the midfoot, keeping the foot in place even at high speeds.
