The ALTRA Experience Wild 3+ is a trail running shoe designed for runners seeking natural movement, stability and reliable grip on mixed terrain. It is the trail offering in the Experience range, combining lightweight cushioning with control on dirt roads and trails.

Midsole – Altra EGO™ Foam

The midsole uses Altra EGO™, a responsive, lightweight foam that provides balanced cushioning. Compression is progressive, allowing for a stable ride without excessive softness while maintaining good energy return to help sustain pace on trail runs.

Geometry – Natural Ride

With a 4 mm drop, the Experience Wild 3+ offers a more natural body position than traditional higher-drop trail models. The sole geometry promotes a natural heel-to-toe transition, helping maintain stability across mixed surfaces.

Outsole – Trail Grip

The outsole features durable rubber with an aggressive lug pattern (~4 mm) for reliable grip on dirt and moderately technical terrain. The pattern is designed to maintain smooth transitions on firmer surfaces as well.

Upper – FootShape™ & Stability

The breathable engineered mesh upper is paired with the signature FootShape™ toe box, allowing natural toe splay. The structured heel and midfoot hold provide a controlled ride on downhill sections.
