The Mafate Speed 4, Hoka’s pure trail running model, is designed to handle long, demanding distances and to be worn during long races and training sessions. Striking and technologically upgraded, it offers a seemingly contradictory combination of maximum cushioning and minimum weight. The main improvement over its highly successful predecessor is the use of Active Foot Frame technology, whereby the foot locks into the shoe, providing an excellent fit and stability on steep gradients. Its improved Meta-Rocker geometry also guides the foot towards a more natural running motion. The outsole has also been greatly improved, using the premium Vibram® Megagrip compound, while its design with 4 mm lugs provides even better traction than that loved in the previous version of the shoe.
